چکیده
Figure 1 – Chest X-ray shows pneumoperitoneum in the right and left subdiaphragmatic region. Figure 2 – Chest X-ray shows pneumoperitoneum in the right and left subdiaphragmatic region. INTRODUCTION Pneumoperitoneum is caused by perforation of hollow viscera, with perforated peptic ulcer occurring more frequently. In rare cases, pneumoperitoneum is not caused by visceral perforation, the cause may be extra-abdominal and sometimes it cannot be determined. Our goal is to present a case of pneumoperitoneum of undetermined origin and discuss the possible non-perforating etiologies.

[A case of spontaneous pneumoperitoneum associated with idiopathic intestinal pseudoobstruction].
Pneumoperitoneum, free intra-abdominal air, usually results from the perforation of a hollow viscous. In approximately 10% of cases, however, pneumoperitoneum is not caused by gastrointestinal perforation. These cases of "spontaneous pneumoperitoneum" generally follow more benign course and may not require surgical intervention. Examples include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), malrotation,...

متن کاملSpontaneous idiopathic pneumoperitoneum with acute abdomen.
Pneumoperitoneum is often caused by visceral perforation, and usually manifests with symptoms of peritonitis requiring surgical intervention. Non-surgical spontaneous pneumoperitoneum (ie. not associated with organ perforation) is a rare entity due to intrathoracic, intra-abdominal, gynecologic, iatrogenic or other reasons, and is usually treated conservatively. Idiopathic spontaneous pneumoper...

However, there are causes that cannot be attributed to this etiology, constituting what has been called non-surgical, asymptomatic, benign, misleading, spontaneous or idiopat...
